how our history shapes our future
Like many families in Toronto, my family moved here from another country. My father fell in love with Canada and the City of Toronto and dedicated his life to the people in his community. After serving as a mechanic with the Royal Air Force during WW2, he had the vision to design, build and maintain high-quality, affordable housing. In 1955, along with his father, he built his first rental buildings on Lawrence Avenue.
My father’s vision slowly became a reality as he constructed more and more buildings across the city. He earned a reputation for high quality, fairness and respect within his community and from those who worked with him. It was important to my father that 3R always is family-owned and operated so that future generations have a great place to call home.
Now, over six decades later, my father's vision remains intact. We still own, manage and maintain those original buildings on Lawrence Avenue, and 12 more across Toronto.
The same values my dad and grandfather taught me over the years, honesty, quality and integrity, are the same values that I try to pass on to the next generation of my family as they serve future generations of your family.
